steel, welding seams, Neopren, Kelvlar seams

Insulating material meets conductive material. Neopren, a synthetic insulation material, is stitched with Kevlar yarn and forcibly attached to a welded steel plate. Both welding or sewing are industrial techniques in which similar materials are joined. As high power welding and rapid machine stitching leave their typical traces, it is the shape and the language that connect these opposing materials. The welded seam evolves into the sewn one.
