Read Only Memory
2004
Two of the artist’s own used contact lenses are scanned by rotating lasersystems. The monochromatic laser-light gets irritated by organic sedimentation and deflected by mechanic deformation of the lens itself. An abstract self-transforming and extremely precise pattern is being projected. Recorded memory saved on the lenses is restored and read. The contact lens becomes altered in function and transformes from a prosthetic device to a slide reveiling authentic visual information itself, generated by the human body.
