revers
2010
Judith Fegerl‘s sculptures and installations connect organic and technical components and all her pieces combine living and non-living elements.
„revers“ takes this hybrid relationship in Fegerl‘s work to the next level, staging a real life blood donation in the gallery space. Plastic tubes, electric cables and lab equipment form the interface between art space and audience.
„revers“ literally taps the audience – who becomes the source of energy while the art space performs the role of a consumer. Audience and artwork merge to form a bio-social sculpture. With this installation the gallery works as a hub, a junction or collecting point which encourages a behavioural routine resulting in the creation of a social organism.
